First steps are one of the most important milestones in a child’s development, which is why choosing the right footwear is essential. At this stage, children’s feet are still soft, sensitive, and in intensive development, requiring as much natural and unrestricted movement as possible.

When it comes to first steps, it is crucial that footwear does not “teach” the foot incorrect patterns, but instead supports natural movement and balance. That is why choosing high-quality materials, proper flexibility, and the correct shape is one of the most important decisions for a healthy start to walking.

To help with choosing the correct size, here are a few guidelines:

  1. Have the child step on the sheet of paper
  2. Draw a line at the heel
  3. Use your finger to gently push down on your baby's nose to make sure the toes are stretched.
  4. Draw a line at the longest finger
  5. Measure the distance between the lines
